Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few months, you know that Jermaine Jackson is penning a memoir that his "publisher promises gives a close look at the complex life of the King of Pop." You might be surprised, but I'm buying the book and I'm going to try to help promote it. This is why:
1. Jermaine Jackson has been a family member who has consistently stated that Michael was not a drug addict. Frankly, one only has to read the autopsy report to realize this is true. However, the mainstream media has, since Michael died (and of course prior to his death) has continued to perpetuate this myth. From the Larry King Live show at Neverland until now, Jermaine has remained true to the truth regarding his brother and the false stories of drug addiction.
2. From the time of Michael's death, Jermaine has maintained that Michael looked strong and healthy in the This Is It footage. This is a key element in the Conrad Murray case. Murray, as you all probably know, is now claiming that Michael was in failing health during the This Is It rehearsals, and therefore it's not fair to convict Murray for Michael's death, as there were contributing factors such as stress placed by AEG. This theory is completely ridiculous on the part of Murray. Of course he is scrambling, like he did with the self-injection/self ingestion of propofol theory. Jermaine Jackson is stating that this is false.
3. Jermaine's book is being advertised by his publisher as "a frank, but sophisticated examination of the human, not the legend, with revealing insights and no subject off limits..." I really like that this book will focus on Michael Jackson the man, the human being, and hopefully not on the sensationalism that surrounded him in life. Who better than one of his siblings, to tell the world about scenarios regarding Michael the Jacksons that nobody has heard before?
4. MuzikFactoryTwo wrote a blog a few weeks back entitled "Stacy Brown Breaks His Silence About Jermaine's Legacy Book..." In it, Brown states that the media blew the subject of Jermaine's book Legacy out of proportion, and printed lies and fabrications repeatedly. I had to ask myself, would the media go to this length? Would the media, in its ceaseless assault of Michael's character, lie about Jermaine Jackson, in order to gain ratings and sell papers/magazines? I think we all know the answer to that question...it would be a resounding HELL YES.
5. Lastly, I have been watching Jermaine's tweets for awhile now. At one point, I didn't think they were his. When someone I asked me why, I said that they seemed too educated. Jermaine's reply:
I have to say I was rather stunned with that. A man that has lived his entire life (like Michael) in the public eye, who has been battered by the media (like Michael) and who has to read negative comments on Twitter, took the time to answer a rude comment with dignity and class.
So, I urge MJ fans to buy Jermaine's book. For all the reasons above, and I honestly believe Jermaine will portray Michael in a way that only a sibling of his could. Preorder here.
What do you think? Will you buy Jermaine's book? I'd like to hear what MJ fans have to say about it.

Wasn't going to buy his book. His recent comments are changing my mind.
I am undecided when it comes to Jermaine. No disrespect intended, as everyone is entitled to their opinions, but I MAY read the book if the library gets a copy in.
When hell freez over, before I buy Jearmine "word to the bad Jackson book"
Yes he alway maintain MJ was not a drug addict yes he alway say the will should not be changed, all those question most MJ season can answer,
JJ legacy book had nothing to do with media twisting lies but words that come out of Stacy brown mouth, he say JJ was lying and he Stacy brown has audio tapes as evidence to prove JJ say some of the thing in "legacy".
So now because they want to sell a hurried cash in half ass book about MJ they tell the fans what they want to hear, manipulate and blame the media while laughing all the way to the bank.
An appropriate author biography of Michael jackson can not be done in
9months. Fact.
It work every time.
Justice, you say "I belive Jermaine will portray Michael in a way that only a sibling of his could". Could have a couple different interpretations. However, I believe I will purchase J's book if only to compare it with LaT's book to see if either of them "will portray Michael in a way that only a sibling of his could."
Hi everybody,
I knew this would be a touchy subject. Maybe it's just me...but I am interested in what Jermaine has to say, in particular because he supports the theory that Michael was not a drug addict and was healthy during the This Is It rehearsals. LaToya's book, on the other hand, supports the theory that Murray is just the fall guy, which I don't think is smart only months before Murray's trial.
@ justice do we need JJ book to tell us MJ was not a drug addict?
I thought the medical death report was clear?
What is up with Mj relative publishing book before and during the trail?
I find it inappropriate and downright tacky, and depending on what they write in there books it could have an impact on the trail "case in point miss Layato saying Murray was just the fall guy" two months before the jury is selected for Mj trail.
"in particular because he supports the theory that Michael was not a drug addict and was healthy during the This Is It rehearsal". Well Katherine, Randy, Joe and Janet, rebbie don't support that theory, a matter of fact Katherine and Joe lawsuit state Mj was sick and weak, during that time, so who and how do you decide is telling the truth?
Why should we not believe Mj was sick if Katherine say he was? After all KJ was seeing MJ a lot more than JJ, so why should we believe JJ is not just telling MJ fan what they wanted to hear to and not the whole truth just enough and at
the same time lined his pocket?
And Jermaine do believed Murray is just the fall guy too.
I guess the jury will have that theory to think on too before they hand down Murray verdict, if Mj family don't hold CM accountable he was only the fall guy
then........
Michael Jackson deserve better than a slap dash throw together so call "tell all"
at this stage any Jackson putting out a book about Mj should make sure it is a
proper biography that put Micheal life into prospective, something that can be
tough in school.
I will not wast my money on Jermaine book ,out of respect for Michael Jackson and a matter of principle, I will not be buying J "cash in tell all"
I hate to think J Randy Taraborrelli "the magic the madness" will be Mj only
author biography,
Anyway it is still early days, for someone to take the challenge.
Justice, thank you for your post on this subject. Although I have also been undecided about Jermaine I do want to read his book.
One of the things that you mentioned that is important and shouldn't be ignored is the fact that Jermaine, like Michael, has been lied about in the press. To what degree I'm not fully certain and I have to admit I have done more research on Michael than on Jermaine. As a result I feel much more confident about what I do know about MJ concerning what is truth and what is a lie than I do about Jermaine.
When Jermaine first announced his book some weeks back I immediately had a negative reaction. My mind went back to the "controversial" yet unpublished book known as "Legacy: Surviving the Best and Worst." The idea that the content of that book my very well have been blown out of proportion, along with the release of heavily doctored leaks, is a very reasonable concept to me. According to this source (see source 1 below) Legacy never made it to print because the publishers said "it wasn't meaty enough." Hmmmmm. Interesting. Sounds familiar. It is also alleged by this source, and others, that Michael put a stop to it. That was one of the things that had stayed in my mind and what came to mind with this recent announcement. To my knowledge, other than speculation by the public, the exact reason for Michael's apparent objection was never officially reported.
Justice, you've mentioned interviews JJ has done since Michael's passing. I've added another source below which is the transcript of the Larry King Show that Jermaine appeared on in January of 2003. (Muzik also references this in her article, amoung other interviews.) They discuss the Legacy book very briefly and move on to other subjects. King asks the obvious annoying questions and Jermaine repeatedly comes to Michael's defense. (With this and so many other interviews, it seems as if there is some pre-ordained rule book that states what narrow range of subjects that will be discussed concerning Michael. Ugh!!!!!!) Despite other complicating issues, it's THIS Jermaine that I "gravitate" to, for lack of a better term. This is the side of Jermaine that makes me want to read the book.
(Note: I welcome correction if I have mistated anything.)

Bridgett, you are right, both Toya and Jermaine have stated that they believe CM is the "fall guy." I don't know if Jermaine will pursue this line of thinking in his book, but Toya certainly will. In fact, she is supposed to appear on Piers Morgan sometime this week and I'm sure she will pursue that subject. According to the teaser that's been running on CNN, she will also reinforce the idea that Michael knew someone was trying to kill him.
I looked up the definition of "fall guy":
Fall guy = "A fall guy is a person used as a scapegoat to take the blame for someone else's actions."
I find the idea of calling CM a "fall guy" disturbing since such a title can make CM appear less guilty of the crime he's been charged with. That clearly can't be the case. From what we know as a result of court docs that have been available for over a year, CM's actions/inactions play a pivotal role in Michael's death. Certainly we will learn much more during the trial conerning the degree of his culpability.
I just finished watching LaT on the Today Show; tonight she is on Piers Morgan's show. IMO there's division in the Jackson family as to Michael's condition near the end of his life. I hope Katherine's case is not undermined by Jermaine's statements that Michael was not addicted and I believe they are referring to different things. Katherine, that AEG and Murray were negligent in their care of Michael during tour preparation; Jermaine is stating that Michael was not "addicted". IMO, two different statements. If Michael was "sick" during tour rehearsals it's because of what Murray did to him under AEG's direction; his autopsy showed no underlying causes. I too do not like LaT's use of the term "fall guy" as it takes the emphasis off Murray. Again, on the Today show, Latoya does not give names of those who she believes killed Michael; she encourages readers to "read between the lines" and they will see who it is. A teaser to read her book? We will see. And it appears from their tweets that neither of them were with Michael's kids on Father's Day, one making the book rounds, the other promoting an appearance at Madame Toussoud's.
@ sandy it really don't matter what route JJ take with his book, him twitting MJ was fit and ready to go is Straight up BS.
How can you have a 50 year man who is sleep deprive and being pump full of drug fit and ready to go?
MJ had issue when you are sleep deprive you can't think clearly your head and eyes hurt.
Plus all the trauma from the 05 trail and the weight of million dollar debt.
How can any look at Mj life and say he was fit and ready to go?
Let's not forget how Jermaine book deal come about, he was under money stress and can't use his passport so he sell his brother to the highest bidder.
And know he is marketing his book to MJ fans so he can collect the remanding 30ps of silver.
Ho yes Mj was murder, THEY did it. Who are the THEY, read between the lines.
Interested. Question they did it, WHO ARE THE THEY?
@June " If Michael was "sick" during tour rehearsals it's because of what Murray did to him under "AEG's direction"....... Do you know this for a fact?
Why can't it be at MJ direction? Mj was not some weak minded simpleton you could just push around, judging from what we know as fact Mj must have know and consent to Murray treatment.
On the other hand MJ died on AEG watch and if they knew MJ was being drug to sleep in order to line there greedy pocket and turn a blind eye, them they need to be made an example of.

Latoya says he was fine, alert and relaxed, looked good physically and happy with his kids. After several hours he convinces them that he was good. Family plans to take turns staying with Michael at Neverland for next few weeks but they weren’t able to follow their plan. She says it took Michael several years before he got the help he needed.
- In this meeting Michael also talks about the people in business. He reportedly says “ Certain people in this business are no good. They take things from you, they rob you. don’t ever trust them”. “LaToya you can’t trust them, they are no good, they don’t really care about us” “ They just want to get everything they can out of you and milk you and use you and toss you away at the ened of the day”.

- Michael says he can’t go and have dinner with them as he was going to studio, drops them by their car, Layoya gives Paris a pink rabbit as a present.
- June 2003 she would be presenting an award at BET awards. Producers ask her help to get Michael to give an award to James Brown. Then they get him on their own as apparently Michael didn’t know Latoya was a presenter until she went into his dressing room.
- Backstage Michael getting ready. Michael called perfume “smell”, they were together for 30 minutes, they took a picture together. Michael goes on stage. They spend another 30 minutes in the dressing room with James Brown, his wife etc.
- Michael takes Latoya into a closet and tells her that he misses her, he loves her and that he’s glad that he got to see her.
Chapter 26: The Conspiracy is Revealed
- 2003 Joseph calls her to say that Neverland is being raided.
- No one in the family knew where Michael was. They later find out he was in Las Vegas and they went to his hotel.
- They find Michael all dressed up for video shot but visibly upset in a wrecked suite. Paris tells Katherine that Michael broke the lamp, threw the food and turned over the statue. Apparently when Michael got the call from Neverland security about the raid, he got very angry.
- Michael says to Latoya “I didn’t do anything. I promise you. I’m being framed. All of this is a setup. you gotta believe me”.

- Michael Amir tells them what happened. Leads them into Murray’s room (the room Michael died in). Michael Amir says he didn’t saw anything suspicious last night. Continue
Latoya searches the room with her eyes as she’s trained as a police officer. Outside the door what looked like Michael’s last meal on top of a dresser (soup and crumbs from a sandwich), pajama top on the floor(paramedics cut it off when trying to save Michael, IV stand on the foot of bed, 3 oxygen tanks in the corner.
- She asks if there was cameras in the room. There wasn’t. Remembers back to 2003 Mirage and Michael saying he would be killed for his catalog.
- Michael Amir then shows them Michael’s actual bedroom. Room was a wreck, torn to pieces, clothes on the floor, dressers turned over etc. Latoya asks if it was always like this. Michael Amir says he doesn’t know because Michael didn’t allow anyone in that room. Latoya brain thinking : this is too messy to be police doing, who did this what they were looking for? suspects people were in there for cash and jewelry Michael kept.
- Remembers what Kathy Hilton said. Says that Michael was a compulsive note taker. so she finds post it notes in Michael’s actual bedroom.
- Notes said
---- I hate John Branca
---- John Branca stole lots of money from me and continuously double & triple billed me

- Latoya wanted Michael to be brought by a procession of gilded horse drawn carriages, fanfare of horns, carried between rows of uniformed guards and an announcer saying “please rise for the king”. She wanted an open casket.
- Katherine vetoed anything showy and wanted a closed casket and relatively simple service.

Chapter 36: Inside the Conspiracy
- says AEG offered the brothers to take over Michael’s dates at O2. Latoya says that she though this was a cover up and didn’t want them to focus on Michael’s death.
- finds it odd that AEG didn’t express concern over Michael’s death and seemed like they stood to make more money with Michael dead then alive.
- Latoya says 100 hours wasn’t all Michael. AEG only recorded last 3 rehearsals.
- questions why they worked with Sony rather than their own Regal Entertainment group. she says why bring Sony in unless a larger deal was in the offing perhaps involving Michael’s catalog. (Hello! This is it soundtrack and release of TII as DVD and Blu-ray).
- Jeffree who did the show and people who worked with Michael said to her that Michael never did complete run-through of any song. So she says Michael wasn’t well and could not have done those shows and AEG should have known that Michael wasn’t well.
- complains that Michael didn’t receive producer credit but the people he hated and fired before did.
- asks who called the tour “this is it?”, calls it a sick joke.
- says many people didn’t offer condolences to the family
- lists the projects and the money earned and says that Estate should have paid the debt quickly.
- some Jackson family members didn’t want to launch an investigation into Michael’s death. Latoya says she can’t let it go.
- Latoya says that she believes Michael would have wanted his mother to be the executor.
- says in July Branca and Joel Katz came with Michael’s will and they knew nothing about the will before.
- Latoya says they wanted a family member be on the board of Michael’s Estate. Executors didn’t agree with this.
Chapter 37: A Legend is Laid to Rest
- Latoya says she saw Michael’s body 9-10 times between memorial and funeral, talking to him, checking to see if his body was still there (she was worried that his body could be stolen)

- talks about private memorial and burial.
- says that they got the stacked tombs on the side of the walls that the family members will eventually repose.
Chapter 38: Eyewitness Accounts of a Cover-up
- Leonard Rowe reached out to Latoya. Insert Leonard Rowe’s claims on his book here.
- Joe told her that he tried to see Michael at the last weeks but security didn’t let him in the house.
- She learned that Michael said Prince and Paris to call Granpa and he’ll know what to do and help him.
- She learned about Michael’s last night from the follower fans (TINI group), they say Michael didn’t do his usual talk with them when he left the house for rehearsals. Con
mentions a meeting in Michael’s dressing room. Speculates to the maximum (I don’t know what’s said in that room but I believe..) saying them either the people realized he wouldn’t be able to do the shows or Michael told them he wouldn’t be doing the shows. Latoya says that she knows that Michael was threatening them not to show up for rehearsal and not do any shows until they cancel the 40 shows he didn’t agree to perform.
- After the meeting he goes on the stage to do 2 songs. (Note: why would he do that if he wasn’t going to do the shows?)
- Karen Faye’s talk with Dileo. Michael Bush saying Michael lost 15 pounds, a choreographer thought that he was too skinny. Latoya says Michael weighted 112 pounds and it’s incorrectly reported that he was 136 pounds.
- When he’s leaving the rehearsal Michael tells the fans “help me get out of here”.
- Again TINI people referenced with increased security “10 men lined up on both sides of gate”
- A fan walks up to her and says that the light in Michael’s room never went off that night (usually it was off in 20 minutes)
- talks about hearing Randy Phillips was at the house when Michael arrived, finds it odd that he was going to Michael’s house in the morning
- questions TII movie and how fast it was done , like it was already planned
- why Prince was called to help when there was adult staff in the house
- she concludes that she believes that Murray is the “fall guy for a much larger plot”
Chapter 39: Starting Over Again
- Jeffre tells her that she needs to get on with her life. She starts making appearances.
- Says Katherine is strained and quickly fading away.
- says Estate hasn’t asked the kids if they wanted any keep-sakes from their father. and claims Estate have been auctioning of Michael’s stuff such as his furniture, memorabilia and his handwritten notes. she says she has been buying some items.
- Latoya says that Michael’s death divided the family and they do not support her in her fight. She hopes to repair relationships between them down the road.
A mess if you ask me.
There you have Latoya summery book by ivy
@brigette, by "at AEG's direction" I meant that AEG directed Murray to keep Michael performing. I think we all know that.
@brigette, I skimmed Ivy's summary which you posted. All I can say is oh my God what happened to you, Michael? God bless you. I have LaT's book on my kindle but have only gotten through a few pages since yesterday. Thank you brigette for putting Ivy's summary here, although it's heartbreaking. Even Piers M. alluded to her frankness.
I only wish now that someone in the Jackson family would oversee Paris' use of twitter. I won't put her twit name here, but it can be found easily among the posers. She went through a terrifying twit experience on Father's Day, although she has now deleted all the hate; she did try to fight before others showed her how to block and warned her not to engage.
@ June i see where you are coming from with that comment.
The book I read the first 100 page of Latoya book,i was not at all impress, her first book was 99.9% better, too bad she was "force" to write it by her Dead ex.
after reading Ivy summery I am not interested in reading it not even for free.
1) i hate when people paint MJ as a victim and one who never standup for himself,i have no interest in reading about a spineless mind control victim. sorry i love them tough and i love them fighting,
2)all the Jackson's has lost there creditability for me i don't believed a word that come out of there mouth, so ms Jackson could be telling some truth but she cry wolf too many time for me to go look.
3)After reading Ivy summery i was asking myself if a publisher really send this to print and selling it as a book?
I really don't see anything beneficially and enlightening seen ass how the book is call "starting Over" and she was to provide answer for woman who are in the situation she was in there is nothing in the summery no advice nothing!.
I read for two reason entertainment and to learn, THIS BOOK IS LACKING both.
no i would say don't buy this book use that $15:00 or $10:00 to buy some fabric for the dress for never-land project, information on this project in on this very blog. it would be money well spend and you honor Micheal memory by doing something dear to his heart.
Bridgett, I also want to thank you for posting Ivy's summary. Deeply depressing is all I can think to say at this moment....:-(
Like you, Bridgett, I also don't like seeing Michael presented as if he were a spineless victim. There was so much strength in this man through much of his adult life that this is a difficult concept to envision. However, one of the things that I've learned about Michael is that he was a paradox through much of his life. Strong and very much in charge but also shy, sensitive and retiring. Of course he gained a great deal of confidence as he matured but that shy, boyish personality was always just under the surface. That vulnerability is very much part of his universal appeal. He did big things in his life that no one can match, but he's not superman, he's not unbreakable. In so many ways he's just like you and me. I can't relate to his immense God given gifts, I can only enjoy those gifts as he presented them, but I can relate to his shyness, sensitivity and even insecurity, if I may be allowed to say such a thing.
Michael had experienced so much success in his life and wanted so much to make a difference in the lives of others, and did! It seemed nothing could go wrong until the Chandler's entered his life. Michael was strong through that ordeal and persevered, despite regrets over the $20mill payout. But it seemed that everytime he brushed himself off and stood back up on his feet, there was someone to try and knock him down again. I can't begin to tell you how IMPRESSED I am with how Michael met these challenges. This man was NOT going to be knocked down and he was not going to be a victim! ("Stranger In Moscow" song/video)
Then in walk the Arvizio's, Bashir, and that devestating trial.
The trial almost detroyed Michael at that time. Just think about what he went through day after day, week after week, during that ordeal. The humiliation was intense and withering. The idea that this sentive, shy, deep thinking, intelligent and gifted man, would be deeply affected and deeply scared by this experience is not only possible but it's hard to imagine any human being going through this and not being deeply changed.
After the trial, you could see Michael wasn't the same. That confident swagger seemed to be missing. Despite his extremely welcomed acquittal, I believe a great deal of damage had been done to his sense of who he was to himself. He lost a part of himself during that time and it would take a great deal of time to recover but I believe he was on his way to recovering.
Than in walks Thome Thome, AEG and Dr. Conrad Murray.
Michael was in the process of getting back on his feet and it was time to assert himself again and reconnect with that inner energy that once shined so brightly and the TII concerts were one step toward realizing that as we can all appreciate.
Then the unthinkable happens and 2 years after that tragic day the man responsible has yet to be held to account for his actions.
Was Michael ever a spineless victim? No. Were there times during and immediately after the trial where Michael found it difficult to access that inner strength he always had before? Yes.
Reading the summary of Latoya's book was depressing and that I think is the huge weekness in her account from what I can see so far. It seems like a dry accounting of events without sharing something of Michael's personality, heart and strength of spirit as he faced difficult times.
Bridgett, I love your suggestion about the Dresses for Neverland project. It's a lovely way to honor Michael's memory while helping a child in need. And yes, it will be money well spent...:-)
Forgive my long comment. I had a lot I wanted to unload.
June, I saw what happened to Paris the other day as it was happening and was utterly horrified at the trash being unloaded on her timeline. Many people, including myself, submitted complaints to the Twitter admins about the harrassment but they sent back a canned responce saying they couldn't do anything about it and it was up to the user to use Twitter's block feature. Although young Paris did handled herself very well in light of the hateful tweets I wish the children didn't have public accounts to begin with, JMHO. Another thing I wanted to mention was all the positive and supportive tweets she received. That was great to see.
Sandy, you may know that Paris was harassed again earlier tonight and heroes came to help her. I don't tweet but I read those of others, this is how I stay involved. Frankly I am afraid I would become a slave to it along with job, husband, kids, life..... Someone tweeted that in their opinion these kids should not use social media, and I could not agree more. Someone also tweeted to jermaine and latoya asking for confirmation that the girl to whom we are referring is indeed her and were they aware of the problems. It will be interesting to see how either jermaine or latoya answers between traveling and booksignings. I cringe when thinking that Katherine Jackson does not know about this twitter problem and no one else is there to monitor her. She uses an iphone and can be doing her tweeting out of sight of adults. It's summer and I'm sure she is fairly isolated without schoolmates available. Someone needs to step up and protect this child from the posers and stalkers. She just wants to be a normal girl. Is it possible?
Sandy, I agree with all your very sincere omments and about the depressing nature of Lat's observations of Michael although she seems quite determined and focused. Surely, those post-it notes SHOULD initiate further investigation. I just find it all so incredibly sad. Having come this far, I do intend to finish the book.
Question -June you have the whole book do you see where ivy is being bias in her summery?
She is being atteck on twitter of twisting the book,( which I know is a lie she always write fair in her comment)
@ sandy thank you, I load the summery on justice (without justice permission) I did tweet justice after and ask if it was ok .
Even before I read ivy summery I read the first 100 page and found the book lacking, I ask the question if Latoya saw notes why did she not copy and pass them on to the police?
And yes I am going to tell fans not to buy this book it's not telling us anythin that is not out there.
Plus I find it selfish and tacky to be writing a book and publish it days before the death anniversary, the side comment about MJ parenting is uncall for.
I totally agree with you your take on mj sandy,
But his family don't show us that MJ they give us a man who have no ideas what was going on in his life and everythig that went wrong was others doing it behind MJ back, so in Essent Mj was a mindless puppet.
@June, you know someone tweet me a nasty Porn totally freak me out, and right then I think about Paris on twitter all expose to those Nasty elements at 13 years, and the aunt and uncle are out selling books, hell no I am not buying any of there sorry excuse of a book.
June, I'm deeply saddened to hear that Paris was exposed to harassment again. I know she can't be protected from ugliness forever but 13 is still such a vulnerable age. That said, I do want to say that she is a smart, strong young lady. Of course, she and her brothers inherited those qualities from their dad. I pray for God's protection for each of them.
Sandy & Bridgett, I've read through approx chapter 7 in LaT's book. Unfortunately, I will be delayed in finishing due to out of town visitors (don't you just love it when that happens?), but thus far I basically agree with Ivy's summary; and I go with her reputation for fair reporting. IMO, there are some holes in the small portion of the book I have read.
Bridgett, the "side comment about MJ parenting"; I either didn't get to that or missed it, I will be on the lookout for it; does it have to do with the kids wearing masks?
Bridgett, I don't believe Michael is being portrayed by his family as a mindless puppet; he was "lost" after that 2005 trial, going to Bahrain? At whose suggestion? LaT says some prince invited him. I think for a long time Michael just "gave up" on all the good he had previously done. Where had it gotten him? Not that he ever asked for a thing in return, but to be castigated, humiliated and treated like a common criminal even after acquittal? How would any of us nobodies feel, much less Michael the biggest star in the world for 40 years. Deeply sensitive and intuitive, he must have battled many demons after 2005 and spent many, many sleepless nights. But I agree he was on an upswing, or so he thought, and then in step AEG, Phillips, Tohme (intro'd to Michael by Jermaine per LaT), Murray, to again pull the rug out from under him.
And having had further time to think this Paris twitter business over, I know she is strong, but there are other raminifications to her (or the boys) being on social media; a Murray/Chernoff troll could get involved and others with a definite agenda other than haters. Still JMHO, but they should not be using social media. If I were a twitterer I would bombared the J siblings who also tweet asking who's monitoring their niece, until I received a reply from one of them.
Hi there Justice, sorry for the long post!
I think LaToya's book is interesting It has some truth's some views are her prospective of what happened.
As to the Children..I agree with everyone about them on twitter but a little voice in my head keeps saying they need to learn what life is really about so they can make the right choices as they get older! MMMMMMM!
r.c. - concerning the twit problem, did you actually read what was sent to P? And on Father's Day? It's all gone now and you would have had to see it to know what I am referring to. While I agree the children might as well learn what's out there in the world, specific hateful comments, lies and inuendo about her father have no place in the life of a 13 year old who just wants to be a normal girl. Sure others showed her how to block, and certain slimeballs' accounts were deleted; also, some of her nearly 7000 followers could be Murray/Chernoff trolls trying to get information.
June, I agree with your comment. I read the tweets Paris was sent and they were more than just offensive, they were sickeningly abusive. Without going into the details of what was actually said, the ignorant fool not only attacked her dad, but also attacked her brothers, her family and attacked her personally in the most ugly cruel way. I simply couldn't believe what I was seeing...:-( It made my heart sick to see it. And yes, Chernoff trolls will lurk on her site for anything she accidentally says publically about her dad. However, she clearly loves her dad and her family very much and defended all valiantly but shouldn't have had to. Not at 13. Thankfully, all the offensive tweets are now gone.
Please keep them and all children exposed to bullying and harrassment on the internet in your prayers.
nope. not interested in purchasing the book, even as Jerm did mention over tweets that he would discuss his relationship with Tohme, who he introduced to MJ, who was at Jerm's side at the UCLA Med Center representing MJ unofficially "official". unfortuately, he's saving that tastey bit for book buyers. also, have you seen the picture of Stacy Brown with Diane Dimon during an intimate dinner "reunion"? Stacy Brown apparently is a good pal of DD's. sorry, but whatever Stacy Brown has to say means nothing, even as he's Rebbie's pal (enough to where she dedicated a song to him in her summer concert last year). sorry Justice, but Jerm's got a long way to go to earn trust. most of all, he's got something to prove to himself after dwelling in the shadows of his brother. i'm not saying he doesn't have any brotherly love in him, but his actions do not sit well with me at all. i don't have any appreciation for how he continually tried to take credit from MJ's own accomplishments after his death under the guise "honoring" his brother in order to reinvigorate the light he wanted to shine on J5 and his constant "reunion" shows. "Michael wouldn't be where he was if not for J5"...sound much like papa Joe?and how many large scale MJ tributes did he botch? what about the one w/ Larry King's ex-wife, where he made a lot of empty promises while shopping for multi-million dollar properties in LA and throwing in a a charity that "Michael would support"...the one that he got booted off of the board (sorry for being vague on this one, it's been a while since i threw my hands up w/ him and his MJ-related projects...so rehashing a few irk-worthy moments)? and how many J family reunion concerts was Jerm connected to where he contracted out MJ and where MJ refused? the Korean promoters (the Moonies) being the most notable, where Jerm was also named in that lawsuit (and lost) for breach of contract. but the clincher for me is calling his father Joe a "great man" who "IS the estate" (in reference to MJ's ESTATE). support his book? with all due respect Justice (and i have plenty of respect for you), Jerm has been consistent alright, just not in a way i'm willing to support. he's a chip off the old block and his father's son. Jerm will earn his keep, but rarely a moment w/o MJ help - something that Jerm, like his father, are free to do now that MJ's no longer around to have a say for otherwise.
(sorry, hit enter unintentionally)
Jerm has a lot to gain, and MJ's fans are the ones he goes to.
in good conscience, no, i will not purchase his book...even for his Tohme teaser.

One of the commentors here quoted Jermaine as saying, "Michael wouldn't be where he was if not for J5." MJ's father has said the same thing. The part that is sad is that you never hear them say that J5 would have been nothing, or at least much less of a big deal, if not for Michael. Cream always rises to the top and even with out J5, I believe Michael would still have had an amazing music career. It's sad that certain members of MJ's family continue to want to take credit for his adult career. Like Michael used to say to Kenny Ortega, "Thanks for getting me to this point. I'll take it from here." Joseph Jackson took MJ to a certain point as child as far as teaching him the profession and of stage craft. Michael always refered to his dad as a genius in that regard and acknowledged his influence. But clearly, as an adult, he took the lead and soared to unimaginable hieghts, and that was ALL Michael!
In some ways this reminds me of the Ike and Tina Turner story. Her career started with Ike and then stopped at a certain point. (I think we all know the story.) The rest was ALL Tina!
btw, thank you Bridget for posting the highlights regarding LaToya's book. could she have allowed more descrepencies and assumptions for the tabloids to feed off of? admitting to not interacting w/ MJ throughout the course of 10+ years, while repeatedly referring back to her brief and vague discussion w/ MJ in 2003 regarding his concerns of conspiracy, while also not acknowledging Tom Mesereau's courtroom cross-examinations to the fact (and that Branca was cleared of any wrong doing) speaks of obvious agenda. has LaToya already forgotten WHY MJ had reason to be be concerned of conspiracy, as he was again being wrongly accused by extortionists? after all, LaToya herself - a family member - was used to promote a conspiracy in 1993. yet she would rather relate specifically (and conveniently) to "Branca notes" purportedly written by MJ that were never mentioned in the search warrant - nor does she offer copies, cell phone photos or originals of the notes that she described, at least enough to have the handwriting analyzed. so much for that that law enforcement training. LaToya's accusations are quite bold, especially since she offers no evidence. she punches out at Dileo, yet she also states that Dileo was the one who warned MJ about the extent that Gordon could take in his abuses toward LaToya at the time. i must not be the only one that notices not only descrepencies, but convenient assumptions running rampant throughout her book. LaToya indeed should have stuck to what she actually knew: her own story. rather, she continually cites 3rd party allegations regarding Branca and others, yet where are her own experiences relating to MJ? to top it off, describing MJ as considering Joe as a "protector"? whose protector? LaToya's? she is, after all, promoting Joe. by all accounts, MJ spent a lot of effort avoiding Joe. yes, he may forgive his father for his abuses, but the abused never forget. it took courage to speak out against Joe, as MJ had. some find it a burden to hold ill feelings, which is the path MJ later chose to take, for his own benefit. but to consider a man who has done MUCH in promoting only his image while exploiting his son's, does not equate to a "protector", imo. with that, i sincerely fear for LaToya's menatal state, that she quite possibly is using her experiences w/ abusive as a guage to the "lesser" abuses of her father by comparison to her ex-husband, Gordon.
the mere mention of MJ creates a sensation in itself to boost sales. one thing that it does not create is any semblence of justice for the death of her brother by disrupting the process and making the Jacksons look only "crazier" and/or "greedy" to the general public. quite an accomplishment...just before Murray's trial.
Well, this is quite interesting indeed. Would love to read a little more of this. Excellent post. Thanks for the heads-up.
