Dear Messrs. Hunt and Ring:
We, as Michael Jackson's staunch supporters and advocates, refuse to support the Michael Forever Tribute, planned by Global Live Events in October, 2011. Even with the withdrawal of your most recent performer, Gene Simmons, fans feel the damage has already been done. Your apology is too little, too late and does not solve the problems we have with this tribute.
Since the initial announcement, through fan sites and forums and a Facebook page (Fans Against Michael Forever Tribute) fans have voiced their concerns about this tribute. One of the initial concerns was how fans were treated on the Michael Forever Tribute Facebook page. The administrators were rude and deleted comments. Therefore, when the announcement was made that Global Live Events "listened to fans" regarding the addition of Simmons, many fans are doubtful. Fans believe that Global Live Events, in an attempt to qualm the media and the Estate, rescinded their offer to Simmons. Simply put, it is not the fans that Global Live Events is concerned with, but negative media coverage, which in turn affects ticket sales.
From the timing of this tribute, in the middle of Dr. Murray's trial, to the ticketing prices, to the obscurity over what charities will be receiving the donation, to the no-guarantee policy of performers, the addition of Gene Simmons and dishonoring, thus tarnishing Michael Jackson's legacy was simply the last straw. With the damage done, it will be the fans who work hard to overcome this debacle for Michael Jackson's legacy. Please understand that this tribute is doomed to fail now. Attorneys for the Michael Jackson Estate have written to you about their concerns, and now the Michael Jackson fan base has done the same. Do the right thing for Michael Jackson, and cancel this tribute.

To reiterate many, MANY comments, the timing of this "concert" or ANY tribute event is way off the mark. We should be focused 100% on the trial during this time with plans for a tribute concert befitting Michael PROPERLY planned for a later date.
It's all so shameful, embarrassing to witness time and time again. I see individuals blatantly and repeatedly going against the estate for their own self interest is just deliberate and reckless. The legacy of Michael Jackson should be of the up most importance. Thank God he has the estate and his fans to uphold his legacy and make sure it is not used in a negative way. Michael worked to hard over his whole life to see it damaged over greed and arrogance. This is not a concert befitting such a talented individual. It just breaks my heart. Enough is enough!

I totally agree with the others...getting through this trial should be first and formost...too many negitives...Michael deserves so much better!
Certainly I feel the timing of this 'tribute show' is far off the mark! The priority at this time should be focused 100% on the trial with no other distractions whatsoever!
For Michael who worked so very hard all his life to forge a career of his own making and receive so many accolades and achievements on his own merit, this show is nothing less than a travesty to his good name, reputation and legacy and from all I understand, definitely is not worthy of him!
Thank God for the Estate and Michael's fans! If a tribute show is to be held in the future it should be organised in a professional and competent manner instead of something hastily thrown together in order to the self-interest and greed of certain individuals and which sincerely celebrates the life and music of such a great entertainer and man as Mr Michael Jackson was!
I have to agree with what has been stated already. The timing of this 'tribute' is way off the marks. Plus, the ticketing system, needs severe re-working. It brings back not so fond memories of the Victory Tour before Michael stepped in and fixed it so the fans wouldn't get ripped off.
Also, a tribute concert to the likes of Michael Jackson, should be done properly and professionally. Not hastily and haphazardly.

I feel this is wrong to have this tribute, first the trial is on for Murray and the fans want to have all the attention on that, as far as Kiss, Simmons already made comments about Michael we didn't like.We will stand strong for Michael, protecting his legacy. JUSTICE will be served for Michael. We want all involved to be punished, all. We are a force to be reckoned with and we are all united for Michael's cause, don't think we won't stand because we will and there is many of us, We want justice for Michael and nothing less. In closing, maybe the truth would be the best place to start.
Everything is wrng about this tribute, wait for the trail to b over and then we can have all the tribute for MJ.
What is the big rush?
I agree with everyone here. This is NOT the tribute that Michael deserves...and with the added Gene Simmons debacle...it's made a mockery of Michael's name and legacy. Disgraceful!! The Murray trial should be the primary unifying event as of today and until the trial ends...preferrably with Dr. Murray being convicted as charged. Then and only then can a truly spectacular tribute concert worthy of the King of Pop be presented.
I do want to thank the Estate for their statement regarding this ill conceived tribute. I hope this poorly planned concert will be canceled.
What role does Latoya Jackson have in this "tribute"? Why is an officer of her company, Ja-Tail, Paul Ring, also an officer of Global Live Events? Katherine Jackson did not even know his name when she was sitting next to him at the CNN interview. Global Live was formed in Britain March 29, 2011; Jermaine tweeted that by April, events were so far along there was nothing they could do to stop it. And yet when the tribute was formally announced by GLE, there was not one "artist" signed up to perform. Let's hope MJ's children are not part of it. Interesting that since LaT's confirmation of Paris' twitter address at the donation of the artwork, there have been no public tweets from Paris, and let's hope it stays that way.

Yes June, they have been tweeted, posted, emailed to the individual Jacksons, as well as the concert promoters and the media. We're hoping one media outlet will pick it up and get it published.
